Wear Blue for Diabetes 2021

November is National Diabetes Month. Let’s come together to create awareness around Type 1 diabetes in our schools and communities. Let’s #WearBlueForDiabetes!

The idea

Whether you’re a person living with diabetes, a carer of someone living with diabetes or a friend or family member, we want you to join us in wearing blue to create awareness for diabetes. Invite your school, workplace or friends to join in on the fun!

#WearBlueForDiabetes

Wear blue for diabetes on Friday 12th November 2021, ahead of World Diabetes Day on Sunday 14th November. Snap a photo and share it online using #WearBlueForDiabetes.

Help us share this initiative using the resources from our awareness pack. Please get in touch on social media or by email if you have any questions.

How to get involved

We’ve created this Digital Diabetes Awareness pack to make it as easy as possible for you to take part. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Invite your child’s school or your local school to take part in Wear Blue for Diabetes. This means that on Friday 12th November, all the learners and teachers will wear blue, to raise awareness for diabetes. You can share the resources below with them so that the teachers have all they need to talk about diabetes that day. Here’s an email template for you.

  • Do the same thing with your workplace, and invite your colleagues to wear blue! Here’s an email template to use.

  • Choose to share your diabetes story at your local school or workplace. Check out our Speakers Guide!

  • Share the resources online on Friday 12th November, using #WearBlueforDiabetes.
