I am proud to be a part of this community, and I will continue to fight for the rights and needs of all those affected by diabetes.
— Amanda Mashego

“My recent attendance at the CDE forum in October was an eye-opening experience that reinforced the importance of individualized care for diabetes patients. It was refreshing to witness the emphasis placed on understanding each person's unique circumstances and tailoring treatment plans accordingly. This patient-centered approach is crucial for achieving optimal outcomes and empowering individuals to effectively manage their condition.

One of the key takeaways from the forum was the significance of flu vaccinations for people living with diabetes. As someone who had never received a flu shot, I was particularly struck by the compelling evidence presented. The flu can pose serious health risks for those with diabetes, and vaccination offers a simple yet effective way to protect oneself.

I was also excited to learn about the new Novo smart insulin pen, which offers a range of amazing features designed to make insulin delivery more convenient and accurate. I can't wait to try it out and see how it can help me better manage my diabetes.

Finally, the forum reminded me of the power of advocacy. Hearing Jonathan Collins' story was truly inspiring, and it reinforced my commitment to advocating for people with diabetes. “
